1.
Get Closer to God:
Listen: the closer you get to God, the more you would discover who you are and who you could become. This in turn links and aligns you with a whole range of people, places and positions you could never possibly meet, see or be on your own! So many people under-estimate walking in the knowledge of God but this is the single biggest point I would say you should do while you’re single! In summary-
grow spiritually.
When you grow spiritually you allow yourself to develop a healthy outlook on your life, which is vital for walking in the fullness of your calling.
2.
Become Financially Fluent:
Learn to speak green. Learn all you can about saving and spending and investing money-where you can! Finances are mega important and the sooner you start to understand the value of a dollar the better! This will help you to appreciate the cost of certain items and cause you to think about where your money is invested and in turn where your focus lies-are you investing in your future or wasting time in your present? For instance-imagine the designer bag you want to buy costs roughly the same amount as a course that teaches you a new language/business/life skill. Where do you invest your money? Its obvious but for some of us-it’s a hard choice-learn to see the forest from the trees. The trees being the present-the forest being the future. In other words, think ahead-think big and invest in your future, save in your present and secure yourself financially.
This is a process and it takes time but the sooner you become conscious financially the sooner you become fluent in finances.
3.
Get Fit:
Now we have talked about growing spiritually, developing financially and finally it is vital you invest in your physicality. Work out what works for you-
see what I did there? Lol
.
Your Health is Your Wealth-it belongs to no one else. Concentrate on building your metabolism and your fitness-Google has a wealth of resources concerning different types of cardio, toning exercises you can do for your body and so on. Learn to watch what you eat. Investing in your health helps you grow in your fitness and in turn allows your confidence to be groomed not only from within, but it would become obvious to those around you.
4.
Live A Little More-Worry A Little Less:
Now we’ve dealt with the 3 keys to the “circle of life” as I like to call it, lets talk a little more about enjoyment *wink* *wink* explore your surroundings, enjoy your friends and appreciate your family. Ravish this season as it will eventually pass-there will come a time where you would not be at liberty to enjoy the freedom you now experience so invest in your relationships and build on your friendships. Time is of the essence so don’t waste time on those that waste your time. Don’t worry about tomorrow/next week/next year-you can’t change it but you can prepare for it by living a little more. So enjoy those around you and remember:
invest only where you’re appreciated and the feeling is reciprocated.
5.
Learn A New Skill:
Now is the perfect time to learn a skill-what do you enjoy doing? Is it singing/dancing? Have you ever been curious about choreography? Listen-learning a new skill introduces you to a very intriguing part of your personality because it stretches your faculties and exposes you to potentially hidden and deeply rewarding callings and talents! It also opens up the possibility for you to surprise yourself-when you become more aware of your talents, it allows your confidence to be boosted as a result.
6.
Be Brave:
Do something that scares you-it could be as small as speaking in front of an audience, signing up for dance lessons or as big as relocating to a different city/continent even. Do something that will cause a trigger to be released in your heart and propel you into the next stage of your life-you’ll never know until you try! This step would build your confidence and enable you to understand the only limitations you have honestly are in your head. When you break that barrier of limitation-the world truly becomes your oyster.
7.
Treat Yo. Self!:
I learned this from one of my favorite shows in college:
Parks and Recreation.
Take yourself on a lunch date-treat yourself to the spa; go on a trip-don’t be limited by numbers of people. And this has nothing to do with splurging-you can treat yourself on a budget for instance-order from your favorite restaurant, have the weekend off, go to the beach, have some chocolate and ice cream while watching your favorite show/movie-there are so many examples.
The point is to learn to enjoy your own company-experience the freedom that comes from “being more than enough.” You could even do this with a good friend-doesn’t matter-the point is to-
treat. yo. fine. self.
Do something that brings you joy!
When you start to value your “
me time
,” you won’t be afraid of your own company-you will begin to enjoy it! This in turn will allow you to savor your single and sweet independence until the right one comes along. It also allows you not to settle because through these steps you realize you are more than worth it!
