GODLY RELATIONSHIPS: PURPOSE AND PARTNERSHIP

Hey Guys!
Today’s post will be on relationships-specifically in the Bible. And I decided to start with Ruth and Boaz. I love the story of Ruth-I feel I connect with her pain in a specific way and so to initiate this new set of biblically based relationships, I decided to start here. Ruth 2:1-5 (NIV)
Ruth Meets Boaz in the Grain Field
Now Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side, a man of standing from the clan of Elimelek, whose name was Boaz.
And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor.”
Naomi said to her, “Go ahead, my daughter.” So she went out, entered a field and began to glean behind the harvesters. As it turned out, she was working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelek.
Just then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, “The Lord be with you!”
“The Lord bless you!” they answered.
Boaz asked the overseer of his harvesters, “Who does that young woman belong to?”

1. PURPOSE: Firstly, I want to point out the importance of purpose. The title of this biblical passage already announces this-as Ruth Meets Boaz in the Grain Field-and that is the grain field of purpose. Hence you need to be divinely positioned to be able to meet that special man/woman-and that position is in your purpose, which is found through God.
Purpose is powerful in helping us navigate into relationships that will be vital for our destiny and to steer away from relationships that are equally destructive to our destiny!

2. RELATIONSHIPS:  The second important tip here is relationship. Whoever you are connected to, is connected to your destiny! Do you understand that? So are you partnering with pain or purpose? You really need to think about this carefully because those who are around you have power to speak into your purpose. Here Naomi had a relative-a man of standing-Boaz. And who did Ruth marry? Boaz-because she was connected to Naomi:

Ruth 1:16 (NIV)
16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.

So who are you connected to? They could bless or burden that journey to the one you are called to partner with in purpose.

3. DIRECTION: Whoever you are connected to, will determine the direction you face-whether you face destiny or destruction. Ruth had the inspiration to face the direction of purpose through Naomi-she said, let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain-and where did she meet Boaz? In the grain field.
This is why it is important to evaluate the people in your life-they are either a flow or a friction to the stream of destiny flooding into your life.

4. AGREEMENT: Do you agree with those around you? It is important to be in agreement with your friends and family-this will determine the decisions you make in life-people may be helping you to make the wrong decisions and not the right ones. Who are you in agreement with? This will determine the power in your path to face your purpose.
Naomi was in agreement with Ruth-hence there was power in their unity-spiritually speaking, there is great force in unity: Can two walk together unless they are agreed? (Amos 3:3)

5. DETERMINATION: When you face the right direction, and are in agreement with those around you, you need to focus on your destination-and this requires determination. Ruth was determined-the Word says she began to glean behind the harvesters. There is power here: she was behind the harvesters-learn from those ahead of you; learn from those that have gone before you-observe and apply. Ruth was working behind the harvesters-harvesters means those that gather crops-hence those that are bountiful-blessed. There is something more important I want you to grasp here-when you following the preceding steps you begin to walk amongst the company of the gifted and the blessed-your destiny will have placed you in their path because you followed the right path.

6. DESTINY:  The Word here tickles me (Ruth 2:3) because it says as it turned out-but that is what happens when we walk along the path God has laid for us: everything falls into place-that is destiny. Ruth was working in the field of Boaz-she was working-that is the present continuous-hence she kept on her business-have you stopped yours? Have you gotten tired and stopped? You need to continue. And look at the Word: Boaz…was from the clan of Elimelek. Who else was from this clan? Naomi-there is truly a deep power in relationships. If you are partnered with the wrong friends/surrounded by the wrong family influences-you will not be led to your Boaz/Ruth.

7. APPOINTMENT: As she was working, Boaz arrived from Bethlehem. I always found it fascinating that he arrived from Bethlehem as our LORD hails from Bethlehem. Hence he was a God send. He wasn’t there before-but he was there now. Hence don’t worry about where this person will come from-they are a God send. Just keep about your purpose-and they will meet you there-Boaz announced his presence with a Godly greeting-what he says will identify him-by their fruit you will know them (Matt 7:16).
The harvesters also answered in a Godly greeting-this is extremely important-because it shows when you are in the company you are meant to keep they will lead you to the right woman/man.

8. PARTNERSHIP: And this is clear as Boaz inquired from the overseer of his harvesters-hence your friends/family connect you to your partner-therefore protect your purpose. Boaz noticed Ruth because of the company she kept. Do you know that? He only noticed her because she was in the company of the harvesters-she was behind them. So which company are you keeping? And then it begins, he asks: who does that young woman belong to? That's so interesting-the first thing he will ask women is if you belong to God. Do you? A Godly man only desires a Godly woman. A Godly woman only desires a Godly man. Women-you are hidden-the right man will see your beauty-he will inquire if you belong to the Father through prayer.
He inquired without Ruth’s knowledge-hence men and women of God-go about your purpose-when it is time men-you will identify her-and women-keep about your Father’s business. It is also important to realize that, the partnership began before they were even aware of each other-hence just because you have not met each other does not mean you are not working together already. That person could be your friend/co worker or simply a person that is working in the same area of purpose as you-that is partnership.
A final word: Men and women: keep the right company and surround yourself with the right influences-it has so much power over your destiny.

HOW TO SET YOURSELF FREE

Hey Guys! I have been MIA for a couple of reasons but I’m happy to be back!
Today I want to discuss the importance in setting yourself free through 5 easy steps:

1.    Date yourself: There is power in self-acceptance. A lot of people get lost because they have not found themselves. It is important to place yourself first so you can then flow into the lives of those around you. When you begin to date yourself and I mean really get into knowing who you are-explore new ideas, take on new opportunities, don’t be afraid to push yourself into new experiences-then you will discover parts of yourself you never knew even existed. There is enormous power in personal awakening and there is an energy that is birthed through that process that will enable you to discover your hidden assets.

2.    Identity: Identity is found from self-scrutiny. Who are you? This is deeper than your name/profession/age/background-its hidden at your core-your center. What makes you unique? What makes you angry/happy/sad/passionate/upset? These are questions you have to discover through dating yourself and this releases your identity. You see, identity holds the key to your destiny hence it is important to be able to connect with identity to open your destiny. A lot of people are confused about their callings in life-that is because they remain deaf to the sound of their identity. When you discover your identity through self-examination and exploration, you will discover your unique beauty.

3.    Confidence: This in turn releases confidence. Confidence is so key-it voices an inner certainty like I always like to say and when you release your identity, you have given yourself the confidence to be able to speak. Confidence is not found through any other means-it comes from within. You can watch as many people speak as you want to, you can mimic their tactics as much as you want, you can even research their techniques-it won’t work for you. It is so important to realize confidence is unique to your person. It comes from your identity wrapped up in your individuality giving a voice to your personality. When you connect with yourself, you have connected with confidence. Do you know a secret? Confidence opens doors no other person can shut because only you have that key-opportunities respond to your voice-not another person’s footsteps, not another person’s story or trials-just yours and yours alone. It is a unique path birthed in the process of self acceptance and opportunities respond to that uniqueness that is wrapped up in your core-it’s a secret many people need to take advantage of.

4.    Gifts and callings: When you have gone through the process of dating yourself, recognizing your identity and release your inner certainty through consistency, you will have discovered your unique calling and there is something beautiful about this moment that never ceases to birth power into your footsteps because your calling today may not be your calling tomorrow but there is a consistent thread that is woven through the whole tapestry of your talents-and for that beautiful pattern to remain relevant and permanent in its ability to draw people forward, it must remain connected to your core. Hence you need to remain in the place of acceptance, identity, confident persistency in order to give a resounding and powerful voice to your calling. This is how people stay relevant-if you notice, when a lot of celebrities lose their status or their positions-it is a result of an inner problem-alcohol, drugs etc. Hence you need to remain connected to yourself so you do not lose your voice-your calling.

5.    Love Yourself: This is why the last and most important step is to love yourself-love your flaws, your features-work on improving yourself each and everyday, learn to be humble and listen to others around you-there is power in self acceptance. When you know who you are no one else can tell you who you are not. In other words, no one else will have the power to manipulate the way you look at your purpose because you are connected with your calling, you are protective of your peace, you have learned to spend time with yourself, you are not afraid of your past and you are focused on your future.

When you realize this, you become a force to be reckoned with.

PROSE: I FOUGHT HER TO FIND YOU

I fought her to find you-I heard your whisper but couldn’t see you. Through the tears, the pain, the confusion-all the emotions boiling through-spreading to those I loved-who were hurt by the spew. I couldn’t understand you-I couldn’t see you-I could feel you so clearly trying to burst through. Fighting natural urges to give, to learn to receive-both good and bad news. To learn not to become the captain of my own shipwrecked views.
I was stubborn; strict but at the same time I could feel a deep hunger from within-searching for something I could not yet see-and that was how I nearly lost everything.
Through the chaos, the stress, giving into other people’s emotions-pulling unto regret. Boiling silently like some deceitful brew-waiting so patiently to spew venom into their smiles of truth-I was afraid of you. You spoke so clearly, eloquently; you knew how to make people trust you. You knew where to strike when someone was struggling too. You knew how to captivate their attention through your ominous looks-they misunderstood you-I did too. I couldn’t see why you kept choosing hatred and guilt over so many other powerful tools. Twisting and twirling through each relationship hoping to find you-to finally see yourself-playing another’s muse. Failing to release your own creative truths.
But they hurt you. They hurt you more than you could have thought possible. You trusted too many people with your vulnerability and it pained you. You screamed with every push and prod they used against you. They turned your shield into a sword to injure you. They took all you wanted and used it to hurt you. Whispered words of trust scattered into the darkness as they betrayed you. They cut you; beat you-they nearly battered you-with all you whispered in their ears-they showed no signs of regrets as they turned against you.
So I fought you. You trusted too many people with our secrets-too many views. You told too many lies and not enough truths. You spoke so harshly when words did not need to be used. You trampled on others as you suffered in silence-you held them as victims against your views. You hurt them because they hurt you. All those years spent trusting and waiting and hoping for someone to see you. It made you blind to your own power-your own potential-you couldn’t see your issues. You refused to face them when they faced you. And it cost you. It tore you apart and like a whirlwind it stole from you-many memories were lost as it littered the trail of relationships gone askew. They weren’t all your fault-that much is true.
Some people couldn’t be trusted-you had to choose you. When faced with that choice finally when you sat down to look. When it all came crumbling because of many a fatality that had borne the brunt of your brutality-you grew tired and released envy. You refused to discuss anymore with revenge-you realized it was not worth it. And so you released the poison from your energy. Hard as it was-I fought her to find you.
I fought her determination to make everyone pay for what they had cost you. I fought her screams of disbelief as she tried to remind you with painful memories of what they had done to you. I stared deep into each picture and chose to release bitterness because of you.
To find you-my purpose, to reach my core-to connect truly with you-to realize at the end of it all-no one is worth giving up on yourself to carry their burdened views-it is not worth the stench to build a pyre reeking with their mixed views-burning away in wasted energy, anger, plotting revenge silently. It was not worth the sacrifice over you. And finally you managed to breathe through. A gasp of air released, and purpose was birthed from that dark decision to leave the past behind in ashes-you rose like a phoenix and now you reflect who I am internally-now I can see you-and finally I see the woman who I wanted to be-the woman I could feel yearning from within to be released-I see all of her reflected in you.
I fought her to find you-through the ashes of deceit you came through-birthed in a powerful furnace of destiny released-the burnt ashes of betrayal at your feet.

SUNDAY WORD: NO ROOM FOR REGRETS

Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV)
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Hey Guys!
Sorry for the absence-I’m going through some transitions right now and will testify when it’s done! #speakinginfaith!
Today I wanted to quickly share a Word.
The Lord says we should enter. But so many refuse to simply enter. Has the LORD told you to enter and you have refused? He may have told you to enter into that opportunity, that job, that role, that position-but first to enter into His fullness-have you?
When you enter it has to be through the narrow gate-you have to go through it!
That means you come through Him-for no one comes to the Father except through the Son-John 14:6.
Notice the positioning of the phrases in these verses. Firstly we are told to enter. Hence the invitation is open! Come to Him.
And we come through the narrow gate-narrow means restricted. The gate is narrow-do you know why? Because His burden is light-Matthew 11:28-30:

Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

In order to carry His burden-you have to leave yours. Let Go! Leave everything-its not worth it. Come through the narrow gate-Enter.
The wide gate is so obvious you can see it in the flesh-the wide gate that leads to drugs, alcohol, sexual immorality, depression-that is the wide gate.
But the narrow gate can only be found by the Spirit-when you enter into the presence of the LORD He takes you through the narrow gate. The question is-are you willing.
For wide is the gate and broad the road leading to destruction-a simple example of this is-alcoholic addiction, sexual addiction, drug addiction and all these are symptoms of destruction found on the road to the wide gate-it leads to destruction.
That is its destination-and many are its victims. As I said you can see it in the flesh-look around at the destruction plaguing the current generation-the wide gate that many have entered through-so change your direction-come through the narrow gate.
It leads to life-and only a few find it.
It is found by those who answer the call of Christ-the call of the Spirit-listen to His voice and come to Him-you will have no regrets-it is the best and most important decision you will ever make-He gives life.
Only a few find the narrow gate because it is found in Christ. To find is to discover-allow Him to use you-but only a few make this choice-are you one of the few?
Are you one of the few that choose life instead of death?
He gives peace, prosperity, wisdom, intimacy-He breathes life on everything-so have you made that choice?
